Mother’s Night"Oh wondrous headed doe… Amongst its horns it carries the light of the blessed sun…” ~ Hungarian Christmas Folk Song.

The female reindeer has been bringing back the sun after the longest night of the year since ancient times across the world. If your origin is German you remember that the doe enters a cave deep in the forrest to give birth to the sun. She is the mother of light and spring. If you are further north, then you’ve heard that the female reindeer flies through the sky with a goddess to carry the sun across the sky to wake up Spring. The Mother Deer was associated with the tree of life, fertility, motherhood, birth and the rebirth of the sun in many cultures.
